Detectives from Strike Force Trident along with the Dog Operations Unit arrested the 17-year-old yesterday and he has since been charged with:

  • 5 x Unlawful entry - building
  • 4 x Aggravated unlawful use of motor vehicle
  • 5 x Damage to property
  • 5 x Stealing
  • 2 x Drive motor vehicle whilst unlicensed

He was remanded to appear in court today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland said, “We would like to thank the members of the public who quickly contacted police after observing a stolen vehicle in Palmerston yesterday.

“Strike Force Trident has seen an increase in older model vehicles, particularly Toyotas, becoming targets for thieves and would urge property owners to always keep their vehicles secured to deter opportunistic criminals.”
