Northern Territory Police are investigating the death of a man in Central Australia earlier today.

At 9:10am, police responded to reports of an aggravated assault at a remote community in the MacDonnell Region.

The man was taken to the local clinic where he was pronounced deceased.

The man’s death is being treated as suspicious and the area has been cordon off and declared a crime scene.

Detectives from the Southern Criminal Investigation Branch have been deployed to the area to investigate the death.
