Serious assault – Darwin city

Northern Territory Police are investigating an incident in which a man was seriously injured in Darwin city last night.

Around 11pm on Saturday 6  August, police were advised of a man outside a licensed premises in Mitchell St with stab injuries. The alleged offender was located nearby and arrested soon after.

Acting Senior Sergeant Sally Nicholas said, "Paramedics transported the 49-year-old man to Royal Darwin Hospital. He has since undergone surgery and is assisting police with the investigation."

A 34-year-old woman arrested on the scene has been charged with one count of unlawfully cause serious harm. She was remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Local Court on Monday 8 August.
