UPDATE - Arrests - Serious assault - Alice Springs

Four people have been arrested and charged in relation to a serious assault incident which left two people with serious head injuries in Alice Springs earlier this week.

Around 1am on Wednesday 20 July, police responded to a report of a street disturbance involving a large group of people in East Side.

On arrival police found two males, aged 17 and 18 years old, with serious head injuries who were transported to the Alice Springs Hospital for treatment.

The 17 year old male has since been medivac to interstate for further treatment.

Investigations identified four people aged between 15 and 19 years old, alleged to be involved in the serious assault of the pair.

The four were transported to the Alice Springs Watch House where they were each charged with one count of Unlawfully cause serious harm and Aggravated robbery.

A 15 year old youth was bailed to appear before court at a later date, while the other three males remain in custody to appear before court on September 12, 2022.
