UPDATE: Charges – Unlawful entries – Katherine

Northern Territory Police have charged a male youth in relation to a number of unlawful entries in Katherine earlier this week.

Detectives from Katherine Criminal Investigation Branch with the assistance of Strike Force Cerberus identified the 15-year-old through CCTV and arrested him at residence in Katherine East yesterday afternoon.

He was charged with:

  • 1 x Assault with intent to steal
  • 1 x Recklessly endanger serious harm
  • 1 x Aggravated unlawful use of a vehicle
  • 1 x Drive manner dangerous
  • 1 x Stealing
  • 4 x Unlawful entry
  • 5 x Damage property
  • 1 x Drive unlicensed

He was remanded to appear in court on 9 December 2022.

A 14-year-old male was arrested earlier today for a serious breach of bail. When searched by police he was found to be in possession of stolen property. He is expected to be charged later today with property offences and at this stage it is unknown if it is related to the offending earlier this week.

Superintendent Craig Garland said “Investigations into these unlawful entries remain ongoing as detectives work to identify the remaining offenders.

“Those responsible will be held to account for their actions.
