A man seriously injured in an assault in Darwin City late last week died in hospital today.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Michael Budge said, “This is now a murder investigation.”

A crime scene was established at a block of flats last Friday after police were alerted to the incident.

“Investigations are progressing and we have spoken with residents of the complex who were able to assist us in establishing a timeline of what happened. 

“We have not yet made an arrest.”
