Arrest – Recklessly endanger serious harm - Jingili

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man after he attempted to run over two victims in Jingili last year.

In September 2022, the man allegedly drove his vehicle at the couple who were outside a service station. The vehicle struck the woman and collided with an ice machine before leaving the scene.

The woman was treated by paramedics for non-life threatening injuries.

Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Day said “Investigations into the whereabouts of the driver identified the 28-year-old man had fled the Territory.

“The man arrived back in Darwin yesterday and was arrested without incident."

The man has since been charged with:

  • 3 x recklessly endangering serious harm
  • 2 x acts intended to cause serious harm
  • 2 x drive dangerous manner
  • 3 x criminal damage
  • 1 x armed with offensive weapon
  • 2 x drive unlicensed

He is expected to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
