Arrest – Strike Force Trident

Strike Force Trident members have arrested two males, aged 16 and 19, following a credit card theft yesterday.

Just after midday, police were contacted by security from a shopping centre in Casuarina regarding suspicious activity from a group within the centre.

Members attended and located the group in the possession of a large quantity of clothing and accessories, from four different stores, and a credit card they could not account for.

The items were seized and a youth and adult were arrested and taken to Palmerston Watch House. The pair were charged with five counts each obtain benefit and one count each for stealing.

Two other youths will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 2005.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland said: “Police urge Territorians to be vigilant with their bank accounts and cards. If you notice any suspicious bank account activity, or have recently lost your card, please contact your bank immediately.”
