Call for information – Domestic violence – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are calling for information after a domestic violence related assault in Alice Springs overnight.

At 10:30pm, police responded to reports of an aggravated assault at a residence in Araluen. A 44-year-old man allegedly assaulted his 39-year-old female partner with an edged weapon before harming himself.

St John Ambulance conveyed both to Alice Springs Hospital in serious but stable conditions.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Branch are currently investigating.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant David Munro said “Both the man and woman remain in hospital as investigations continue. 

“Police are urging anyone with information, who hasn’t done so already, to make contact on 131 444. You can also make an anonymous report through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
