Northern Territory Police are calling for information after a large disturbance in Gray overnight resulted in an alleged hit and run.

At 9:20pm, police received reports of a large disturbance on Cornwallis Circuit, Gray, with multiple people reportedly fighting with weapons.

A 30-year-old man allegedly struck a 31-year-old woman with his vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The victim was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A short time later the driver turned himself into police where he remains in custody assisting police with enquiries.

Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Day said “Investigations into both the disturbance and hit and run are ongoing with detectives from Serious Crime expecting to charge the 30-year-old later today.

“Anyone with information, particularly if you have CCTV of the incidents, is urged to make contact on 131 444. You can also make an anonymous report through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
