Response to Crime Data

Police

On Tuesday 27 June 2023, Deputy Commissioner Murray Smalpage APM stated that Alice Springs in May 2023 had recorded its lowest number of incidents in four years.

The number of incidents is obtained from police data sets that includes criminal and non-criminal jobs.  This data has been captured during the past four years and can be used to analyse trends and resourcing, rather than just focusing on the number of committed offences.

The total number of incidents attended by Alice Springs Police was:

  • May 2023: 4473
  • May 2022: 5633
  • May 2021: 5177
  • May 2020: 4828
