Northern Territory Police have arrested 5 youths in relation to an aggravated burglary that occurred overnight in Jingili.

Around 1:30am police received reports that a licenced premises on McMillans Road, Jingili, had been unlawfully entered. The offenders allegedly used a stolen vehicle to strike the property doors and gain access. After causing significant property damage and stealing a quantity of alcohol the offenders left the scene.

A short time later the offenders attended a service station on Berrimah Road, Berrimah, stealing fuel and fleeing.

A vehicle pursuit was initiated by police with officers successfully deploying a tyre deflation device. The vehicle was abandoned a short time later with the offenders fleeing on foot towards a nearby school on Sabine Road, Millner.

Strike Force Trident and Dog Operations officers established a cordon of the area and arrested 2 males aged, 13 and 14, and 2 females aged 13. A further arrest was made later this morning at a residence in Moulden, a 15-year-old male.

While in custody, one of the female youths allegedly spat on a police officer.

Strike Force Trident Detectives are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to make contact 131 444.
