Call for information – Domestic violence – Barkly region

Police

Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to a domestic violence incident at a remote Barkly Region community on the weekend.

Around 3:30pm on Saturday, local police responded to a report that a 26-year-old female had been assaulted with an edged weapon at a residence in a remote Barkly Region community.

The victim suffered injuries to her face and hand, and was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital to receive treatment.

A 31-year-old male, known to the female, remains outstanding and the incident remains under investigation. A crime scene has been declared.

Police believe the victim may have been assaulted multiple times last week.
