Northern Territory Police are appealing for witnesses following a vehicle fire in Katherine today.

Just before 9:30am, emergency services were notified of a vehicle alight on Callistemon Drive.

Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service attended the location, successfully extinguishing the vehicle.

Katherine general duties attended the scene and declared a crime scene, alleging the vehicle was purposely lit.
