Update: Death – Hit and run – Wagaman

The pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Wagaman on Tuesday has died.

The 52-year-old man was hit and knocked to the road as he crossed Vanderlin Drive at around 11.10pm on Tuesday night.

He was admitted to Royal Darwin Hospital and remained in intensive care and died on Wednesday evening.

Major Crash and Crime Division detectives continue to investigate and seek assistance from the community to identify the vehicle involved.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said police again appeal to the driver and those with knowledge of the vehicle involved.

“It is not too late to do the right thing and come forward.  With assistance from the community, it is only a matter of time until police identify the driver and the vehicle.

“If any residents or businesses along Gsell Street, Vanderlin Drive and Trower Road have CCTV and are yet to speak to police, please do so to assist the investigation.
